Cleeves Factory, Limerick
Originally built as a flax spinning and weaving mill, Cleeves factory employed over 1,000 people in 1918, it also employed some 5,000 farmers throughout Munster. However there was conflict throughout the land in the 1920s, the company went into liquidation as milk prices plummetted and there was less demand for condensed milk. Just as a side bar, the 1920s must have been a fascinating time for the Limerick Docks area, with the comings and goings of the massive turbines that were brought in to build Ardnacrusha Power Station.
This painting measures 28 x 68 cm and is painted on high quality watercolour Fabriano paper. Framed in white. Delivery available in Ireland via An Post.
